What is spirit photography?

Spirit photography is just that, a photograph of a spirit or entity. There are a plethora of photos on the internet purporting to be ghost photographs; some of these deserve legitimate study, while the majority are either misinterpretations or forgeries.

The most common photograph you will probably see is the orb photograph. In these photos you will see luminescent orbs that are reported to be spirit entities. The problem with these photos is that they are easily produced with digital cameras using a flash, the light reflects off of dust particles or even insects in the air and the results will be orbs. This isn’t to say that there are genuine orb photo’s out there; it’s just that this is the most common photo passed around as being a ghost photo.
